The Awards event was held on Friday, September 15, 2000, in Hollywood, California, at the L. Ron Hubbard Gallery. The writers’ and illustrators’ workshops were again held at the excellent facilities of Author Services, Inc. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts to longtime judge and SF legend Frederik Pohl.
