Hey, Louis, I thought I recognized that handle. wotf008 Welcome to the board.

Thanks,

Finally got on the board...took getting a new computer to do it. The board didn't want to recognize my old computer even after I registered.

Louis

Hmm, evidently the smilies don't want to work for me.

It looks as if Martin has finally hacked the system to fail the smilies. There is a war on smilies on this board...

Also welcome to all the new members! (I always forget to come on here and officially welcome people).

Hi, everyone, I'm Tim and I've been lurking for a while so I feel like I know a lot of you fairly well already, but I felt it was time to introduce myself!
I began writing when I was young, around elementary or middle school age (30 years ago! wotf015 ). I had a wonderful encouraging teacher in middle school, but fell out of the writing habit for quite a while. I would make a faltering start at writing something every once in a while and I spent years and years finding one "creative outlet" after another until I finally asked myself why I wasn't putting my full energy into doing what I loved to do: writing. So, I put on my serious hat, sat down, gave it a shot and found out what I think I've always known: there is nothing like it in the world!! Sometimes it's hard, and I mean hard, damn work, but there is no feeling that even comes close! I've found the love of it again and my little head is practically teeming with ideas now! My Q2 submission was the first thing I've written in over 10 years and the first thing I've finished in probably 20 years, but there are many more to come!

Welcome aboard, trdixon! That story sounds awfully familiar to me. I'll tell you what I tell myself: "Never give up! Never surrender!"

Welcome Tim.
Hope your Q2 entry wins. Seems there's always a story in the volumes written by somebody who entered for the first time. Good Luck!

Or we are all personalities inside one mind in search of our gatekeeper.

Welcome Tim! Do we get to find out your real name eventually or will Dustin's guess be a good replacement? So you've been lurking, ey? Any relation to Bob Writer? Can't wait to hear your take on things.

He said his name in his original post. And when I went to reply, I forgot the name (I'm prone to forget names; never faces) and used his handle. And Dustin was so kind as to point out that Tim's name is, in fact, Tim. So, unless Tim isn't really Tim...hm. Waaait a second. Has Tim gone the way of Thursday, and neither exist anymore? I hope not...

Maybe when we find Tim we'll find our results?

Unless we're in the parallel universe where every day is Thursday and everyone is Tim... Or was that everyone is Martin?

Ahhhh!

So go for it and do good. Smile

Ahhhh. So his name is, in fact, Tim. Welcome Tim! I really thought Dustin was just renaming you.

Poor Jeanette. Trapped in a parallel universe of her own making...it happens to all of us at some point. Dangers of a spec writer. I did love the day we decided we should all eventually be named Martin (there was some UML joke in there), that was a funny tread. And whoever thought of the "every day is secretly Thursday" in the Q1 thread is also awesome.

Someone's been busy making parallel universes! Get us all some fruit. It will at least help with the rickets and scurvy if it has no effect on our mental illnesses.

The insanity has begun, as you predicted, Tina. Or perhaps it's always been there? I can never tell...

Now that I have sated my appetite for fruit (and no longer confuse Tim or Martin or anyone else for Pansy), I feel a little better. No more drumming my fingers on the table and looking over my shoulder for results. Nope. I feel positively *fine*. In fact, I feel fine enough to move away from the computer. First, to put the mouse down. Yes. I said, mouse down. Now. There. Now to um...can't make the fingers stop. Must. Stop. Can't stop until I pick up the mouse. Just one more time. Then I can safely click that little button. Make it all go away. Then I'll traipse down the hall, but not too loudly. Don't want to wake the sleeping children. Maybe I'll give them a kiss on the head and whisper "good night." Then off to sleep, to dream a world where any day can have results.

I do hope you haven't had that joke used very often, and if you have that I apologize. As a kid I think everyone hit most of the 'jokes' with my name - Damsel, Hansel, Denzel... they do get old.

If we are going to be changing our names all to the same one. I vote for Brad or maybe Nick. Seems more fitting since we all want to win. Smile
