I've known about this for a week, and now my gag order has been lifted and I can share my happy news. My WotF semi-finalist from last year, "Catch a Fallen Star," has been accepted by Fireside Magazine. I also found out within hours of that acceptance that my science-fiction flash "Caged" will appear in Every Day Fiction. Two acceptances in one day is a really, really good day.
Yowza! You need something beyond "really, really good"!

And Eric Wilkerson's illustration is beautiful!
I'm incredibly honored.
The illustration is beautiful! I'm looking forward to reading your story.

My steampunk flash story "Father Francis and His Mechanical Bees" is up today at Every Day Fiction, which accepted two of my stories within about a week of each other. I had a fun time writing this, and I hope that comes across in the reading. Here it is: http://www.everydayfiction.com/father-f ... ell-hicks/

I ahd David Brin ask if I had stuff for sale while sharing a panel with him this past weekend, so I'll call that a win.

Editor Stephen Ramey is posting excerpts from the 'Triangulation: Morning After' anthology plus reviews they've received from Tangent and SF Site review over on his blog. My excerpt is up today, if anyone's interested. I'm not sure that this is the right place to post this, especially given the SF Site review of my story - but here's the link:

Wow - thanks, Jennifer
You were an assistant-editor on the anthology, weren't you? You guys did an amazing job putting the thing together. I was thrilled when my story got accepted, but after actually reading the collection I think a curious combination of humbled/proud would better describe how I feel. I can't believe my story's sitting in there with all those other great ones. Thanks so much for letting me know you liked my story: completely turned my morning around.

You're very welcome -- the praise is deserved. And thank you, too.
Yeah, I was one of the assistant editors, and I hope Steve will have me on board again. It's a good learning experience to spend some time on the other side of the slush.

Hey Sam!
I saw your story in my inbox just now and read it! It was great! Congrats on the sale. I recognized your name from our recent exchange and came on to tell you how wonderful it was. I especially liked the first few lines (drew me right in)--and I was trying to be good and "wait" since I have bit more writing to do today. Darn you! 😉
Tina
Congrats, Sam! Just read it and really enjoyed it. Great little story!
Grats, Sam, I shall take a look.
Had to edit this to say MY NEXT POST IS MY 1000TH!
What to do what to do...
Can I post it?
Hmmm. That depends...
On what?
On whether you have anything particularly mischievous planned.
Now that's an idea!
