Just checked on the status of a story I submitted to Asimovs. It says "under review". Up until now I've only seen "pending" and "sling yer hook", sorry "rejected". What is this new state of affairs and should I be holding my breath?
Its a story that made HM in the last Q4.

No, that could be fatal if you got carried away. Take a deep breath, roll up your sleeves, and write the next gem. It's best not to dwell on your subs, send'em out and be patient.

I've already written three since this one. I have eight doing the rounds.
Just wondered what it meant.

I recently got a form rejection from Asimov's after the story had been "Under Review" for several days. I think it just means someone is currently reading it.

@pdblake Morgan is right. It does mean that someone is reading... or it could mean that it is just waiting for the EIC to forward a rejection/hold/acceptance letter. That's why it takes long.
Clarkesworld uses the same manager, and they explain what those terms mean on the end of the page:
Not sure if Asimov's has a second round of reading. If they do, I never got there ?
