@jason and @jonilabaqui, a few recent Q4 submitters have brought up a change in wording in the "story received" email.

Thank you for your submission to the Writers of the Future Contest, 4th Quarter 2023 for volume 40. (Cycle 40D)

Your story, [entry], has been received.

They ask if this means changes to the usual automated emails and calls?

Thanks for the question. The automated email was updated in WizeHive to ensure people know to sign up for the newsletter where we also announce winners, tips from professionals, Contest news, and more.

There is no change from the existing notification emails or calls.

Hope this clarifies the question.

@jason That is extremely misleading wording then, as it says we HAVE to subscribe to the newsletter to get notified. I appreciate the opt in to subscribe to the newsletter instead of automatically subscribing submitters to the newsletter, as has happened in the past. But this isn't the way to do it.

v 29 : - HM - - | v 30 : - - - - | v 31 : - - - HM | v 32 : - HM - HM | v 33 : R HM R SHM | v 34 : SHM SHM HM R | v 35 : HM R R R | v 36 : - R R R | v 37 : - - - HM | v 38 : - - - HM | v 39 : HM - - R | v 40: - HM - SHM | v 41: R
