For the new folks, there's sometimes a gap between when Jody and I finish and when Joni makes the calls / sends out results. Managing the contest isn't Joni's only duty, so if she's in the middle of some other huge project, sometimes we have to wait a few days, sometimes up to a week or so.
The people who get calls won't be allowed to say anything until their gag order is lifted, so back in my day we watched for people to suddenly go silent. 😉
Most of the time, I'm not told when calls are going out, but if I hear anything I'll let you know.
This was a hard quarter. Jody said that she could have picked twice as many finalists and still had impossible decisions to make. The top stories were just that good.
