Discussion Q2 Volume 39

subbed! can't believe it. usually i'll be working on a story the entire 3 months. this q, nothing was coming together for me, lots of abandoned drafts...honestly i thought i wasn't going to sub anything this q. then, last week, i had a wacky idea, totally outside of what i usually write/my "comfort zone", and just ran with it, and had a great time doing so! and it is subbed now. yeehaw! good luck everyone!

I've been struggling. A LOT. But I'm in. And I have lots of false starts to play with for next quarter. I'm really worried about this particular submission, but it's better than no submission.

I'm excited to finally be in after a couple of quarters off. Here's to getting a submission streak going. Good luck, everyone!

Quick! Does it matter what I name my submission file as long as my name is not in it?

I'm in! Wouldn't have been possible without the wonderful critters on this forum who helped me make it the best story I could make.

@writhmic Do you mean the name of the story or the file itself? If file, it doesn't really matter. It can be different from the story title (I've done that before). The certificate will show the story title in the doc.

Well, I missed it.

In a hard core gambling kind of way. It was part of my system.

Nothing written worth submitting. Either send old tat or first drafts. What a choice. First reader would be grateful.

Any idea when last quarter results may appear?

I'm in as of 8:10 pm ET. Not sure how good it will do but I had fun writing it.

Suddenly tempted to name a file "[Story name]_draft3149" and hope that they take enough pity on me to up my HM to an SHM

I'm at the opticians the 7th so by the time the results come out I be should be able to see them  

Hmmm, looks like I did not get in after all. I have not received any conformation E-mails. 

@ldwriter2, do you see no entry when you click through to the Enter Writer's Contest panel? I have a visible Application Submitted entry for each of my Q1 and Q2 entries into the Contest.

(Also for reference, my confirmation email came from [email protected], and was received within minutes of my submitted entry.)

I'm certain you have to start all over when you submit, LD. If you haven't registered as if you were a first timer, you're not going to get in.

I don't know if that's the answer, but it's worth a try. I see the same page DoctorJest sees when I submit.

Or it could be your email address. I know I had trouble with getting confirmation emails not too long ago. Joni told me they were sent but I never received any. Turned out my email address had troubles with their system. I ended up needing to use a different email address. You may want to send Jason a PM with your concern.

@jason Is the one that can check on this for you. If you pushed the actual submit button, the page itself should have given you confirmation. You should also be able to see it listed as submitted in the submission log under the account you made. Do remember it’s the workshop week if you message @jason. They are all working overtime right now.

So I went into the system for 39B, (Volume 39 second quarter) and it showed that the "Submit" button was not pressed.

I went ahead and back dated the submission so you are officially in due to the situation!!!!!!
