And honestly, even just an HM to show me I’m improving as a writer would be a huge win here. My highest WotF results so far have been RWC.
You are writing and that is a great accomplishment. Even better, you found WotF and are entering in the contest. Be active in the forum and do some critic swaps, it helps. Also, strive to enter each quarter.

I usually submit grim and dark. 4th quarter, I wrote humor. I started laughing while I wrote it, and figured maybe that was a good sign

I like the dark stories too. I did the same thing for 4th quarter and wrote something with a splash of humor. My wife tells me I'm not funny, so hopefully the story is funny. haha
