Hello! In the 28th of June, I submitted a short story to the second quarter two days before the deadline date which was the 30th. The results now came and it appeared I did not make the final cut for the Honourable Mentions, big whomp, however...I checked my submission and it said it was still in review removed link Is that a bug or would have my story been read aleeady? Am I expecting anything about my story like a quick feedback or rating, or is it normal if it is still labelled as:

Only Semifinalist stories get critiques in detail. Some rejected stories get Rejected With Comment, which means your story missed for one or more reasons from a list of eight or so common missteps. It's up to you to decipher which of these apply to your story.
It has been a long time since I submitted (ten years), so I'm unfamiliar with how story status works these days. I recommend emailing Joni to check if there's a bug.

If you submitted on June 28, you submitted to the 3rd Quarter, not the 2nd Quarter. The Quarters in WotF are staggered. Q1 ends 12/31, Q2 ends 3/31, Q3 ends 6/30 and Q4 ends 9/30.
We are expecting Q3 results sometime around the end of September or the beginning of October. It takes a while for the judges to review the entries. You will receive a message even if your story is rejected.

Hi Justin. First off, congrats on the submission! It's takes guts to write a story AND send it into the world to be judged. Kudos for that step!

Hello and welcome @juicetinaus! I looked into the system and you submitted it in cycle 40C, which means it was for volume 40, third quarter.
This is currently in progress of being reviewed and you will be notified for sure at the end of the judging process.
In the meantime, the next quarter has opened up and I don't see any submission for that cycle 40D. While waiting you are more than welcome to work on your next story and submit it.
