Glad to hear it! I hope everyone in this workshop listens to it and finds encouragement. This was Brittany’s idea, and John loved it. Glad we were together in Hollywood to do it! More natural that way than over the phone.

@wulfmoon I've wanted to teach and/or mentor for years, but never felt like I had the credentials. A few years ago, I decided once I won WotF, I'd put my name in to teach locally. Here's hoping for credentials!

I’d love each of you trained pilots in Top Gun to pick one Year 4 Super Secrets member to help for the year. The rewards of helping another just behind you can be readily seen, and it’s the spirit that embodies this Contest.

Perfect. Please private message crlisle if you’d like a mentor. She is offering her support to one of you that took this Year 4 Challenge. Take her up on it. She’s a published writer, and has written some sterling KYDs. She recently sold one to Daily Science Fiction!

I took the plunge and purchased Thursday's Fyrecon master class on nailing openings and hammering endings with Wulf Moon. I'm very excited for it. Often many stories I read seem so-so until I get to the ending and the emotional resonance changes everything. I still have to plot out my schedule for all the other workshops they offer but I'm really taking it for the one class. I don't even know, because of work, how much time I'll be able to devote to everything else. Are they recorded by any chance?

Thanks for taking one of my master workshops at Fyrecon Online next week, scribblesatdusk! That one on Nail Your Openings, Hammer Your Endings is almost full, good timing! And it has Heart's Desire in it as well, which is the most important lesson I teach. You'll love it. When I did the first version of it this year to support DreamForge Anvil's Kickstarter, it sold out at 50! I did an overflow workshop on it so no one would miss out, and 13 more took it, many coming back to take it again! It's a good one. But don't take my word for it, here's someone from England that attended twice!

As to the general convention, you're absolutely right, you get the 4-day Online Convention as well included with the master workshop registration (a $60 value), and there are tons of classes by pros included in that. There's no way to get it all in. Pick what sounds good and what you have time for that will help you the most. I highly recommend the editor ones with Scot Noel. I invited him to teach at Fyrecon this year because it's an aspiring writer convention, and his DreamForge Anvil magazine is focused on publishing aspiring writers! You can never go wrong getting face time with an editor and pinpointing exactly what they are looking for in their current open call. It can help you hit their target and get you a sale!

I've also had a solid browse through the different courses throughout the con. I haven't made my schedule yet--you beat me, David!--but I will certainly do so before the event.

Oh my goodness, that would be amazing! Of course, we understand that you Top Gunners are already going hard with your own work. As Moon said, if any of you have the will and the energy to mentor we would HUGELY appreciate it!

Looking forward to sharing How to Write Winning Stories That Take the Gold with you, Scott. I designed this workshop off my experiences in winning over 40 national and international writing contests, and have a special section on how to craft a story to help it win Writers of the Future. There are some pitfalls to avoid, and some Secrets to be shared. One writer last year that took this workshop applied it to her work-in-progress and swears it’s the reason she won the Canadian Book Award with her novel. The win is in the details!

You get the whole 4-day Con included with the master class registration. Don’t miss any panels or classes with Scot Noel, editor of DreamForge. I invited him because he publishes aspiring writers, and getting some face time with an editor is a great way for them to remember you, and for you to figure what they’re currently looking for. It can make all the difference! If you write crime stories, don’t miss my friend Dana Endorf’s classes. I invited her because she’s a retired FBI operative and now a novelist, and knows true procedure. She’ll give you great tips and story ideas grounded in fact to make your fiction believable.

Wonderful! I’ve edited @danuta (Danuta Raine’s) work, and yours of course, and I believe you two would be compatible if she’s willing. Drop her a PM and let’s lift one another up through mentoring! Thanks for extending a hand, AJZach! We are all learning, btw, for the rest of our lives. But each of us have unique gifts that can be used to edify others.

You are a superhero! Congrats again on your first pro-rate sale to the anthology Things With Feathers: Stories of Hope. I look forward to reading it after Fyrecon ends!
