Wowsa! Best prompt ever!

Thanks, Candice! I was thinking about Terry Pratchett’s Granny Weatherwax. She went into such a deep sleep at times, she’d put out a sign next to her bed that said: “I ain’t dead!”

Lot’s of potential with this one. Look up the practice of a string tied to the finger of the dead in coffins, and how it was connected to a bell above the grave. Freaky fact, but true. ?

Appropriate for either Halloween or Monty Python.

November 24, 2018, at 2:18 pm, after I won Writers of the Future, I started a topic in this forum called Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRETS Workshop & Challenge. My objective? To provide a clear resource for aspiring writers to understand the principles of writing and storytelling so that they could shave years off their learning curve. Anyone that wanted to write fresh, original stories was invited to join this workshop. Most that joined had never sold a story in their life. Many following these Super Secrets not only had their first professional sales from applying these teachings, they won the Writers of the Future Contest, the Mike Resnick Memorial Award, and launched professional writing careers. 

Five years later, this online writers' resource has had 850,000 views, and both these Super Secrets and the workshop it's based on have won many awards. I've now completed the first book in my Super Secrets of Writing series: HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY. It's a big book--100,000 words, thirty-six chapters, 328 pages. It's being published by Mark Leslie of Stark Publishing Solutions. I gave an Advance Reader Copy to Robert J. Sawyer, Hugo Award-winning author of The Oppenheimer Alternative and a respected judge of this contest. Here's what he had to say:

I definitely recommend everyone getting this book! Wulf Moon is an amazing writer! What's more, he's dedicated innumerable hours of his time and his extensive knowledge of writing to helping others like me, like you, and everyone who wants to write better.

I have been honored to have taken part in his seminars and the things I've learned from him, even here right in this thread on this forum, has propelled my writing to incredible lengths. I would not know how to write a short story if not for Moon. He has been not only a mentor, but a friend, and an amazing fellow writer that I am thankful to have met.

How to Write A Howling Good Story is a definite must read!!!

I highly recommend Wulf's guidance. The way he explains topics helps them sink in and you're able to apply them to your own style of writing. His techniques have helped my writing move from HMs to SHMs and even an SF.

Back from 20Books Vegas. Had a great time releasing HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY while there. It’s been at the top of Kindle New Fiction Writing References all week, #1 on Kobo as well, but my publisher also sent me screenshots from Smashwords today. It's now a bestseller on multiple platforms!

A quick report on HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY now that we're two weeks out from release at midnight tonight. It's been the #1 New Release in Kindle's Fiction Writing books category most of the entire two weeks, and rose to #6 of all sales in this category one day as well (some upstarts named Ray Bradbury and Stephen King shut me out of those topmost slots )

Draft2Digital/Smashwords posted their weekly sales report for the week we launched. HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY  ranked #4 and #5 in total revenue and sales in ALL nonfiction, not just fiction writing books, and received their Top 25 bestseller emblem. We didn't even have a full week of sales to report (launched on Tuesday, Nov 7th). I'm told by my publisher it's going to be a top bestseller once again in the report for this past week as well.

It's been a surreal two weeks! And the WotF Forum is a big part of this. The book is the product of this thread!
